Sparkle given by local jewellery maker I am always surprised to see an email in my inbox that comes from our website, but none more so than when it comes from an enquirer on how to make a donation!! Ortwin Thyssen Jewellery Maker, Canterbury, attended our 30th Anniversary Cathedral Service last April and was shocked to hear that the effects of the disaster are still being felt by the children of Chernobyl. When I met with Ortwin in his beautiful shop he explained how he remembered the day of the disaster as he was due on a school trip to Poland. Germany was more affected than Britain and the whole of Europe did not fully understand the impact of the disaster that would last for generations. CCLL Herne Bay Link would like to thank Ortwin and his team for their kindness, support and generosity in their donation and we will be ensuring that it goes directly to helping those children most in need.
